In the Old Testament of the Bible Jeremiah the prophet records, As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the Lord, we will not hearken unto thee. But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done...Jeremiah 44:16, 17.Who was this ancient"Queen of Heaven" that had enticed Israel of old to "make her cakes to worship her?" (Jeremiah 44:19)Historian Alexander Hislop explored the phenomena of "goddess worship" in his well worn book, The Two Babylons: In those countries of Europe where the Papal system is most completely developed...all appearances of worshipping the King Eternal and Invisible is almost extinct, while the Mother and Child are the grand objects of worship. Exactly so, in this latter respect, also was it in ancient Babylon. The Babylonians, in their popular religion, supremely worshipped a Goddess Mother and a Son, who was represented in pictures and images as an infant or child in his mother's arms. From Babylon, this worship of the Mother and the Child spread to the ends of the earth. In Egypt, the Mother and the Child were worshipped under the names Isis and Osiris [called most frequently Horus]...in Pagan Rome, as Fortuna and Jupiter...the boy; in Greece, as Ceres the Great Mother, with the babe at her breast...and even in Tibet, China, and Japan, the Jesuit missionaries were astonished to find the counterpart of Madonna and her child as devoutly worshipped as in Papal Rome itself. ...That son, though represented as a child in his mother's arms, was a person of great stature and immense bodily powers, as well as most fascinating manners. In Scripture he is referred to (Ezekial 8:14) under the name of Tammuz... "The Lamented One." The Two Babylons, pp. 14, 20. 21.Hislop tells us that the "lamented one," who was adored as a child, "seems in point of fact, to have been the husband of Semiramis, whose name Ninus, by which he is commonly known in classical history, literally signified The Son...Now, this Ninus, or Son, borne in the arms of the Babylonian Madonna, is so described as very clearly to identify him with Nimrod...of whom theScriptural account is, that he first began to be mighty on the earth, and that the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon. As time wore away, and the facts of Semiramis' history became obscured, her son's birth was boldly declared to be miraculous: and therefore she was called 'Alma Mater', from its ancient meanings to have the meaning of 'the Virgin Mother'. The Two Babylons, pp. 75, 76.

The world is ready and ripe for this almost overpowering deception. In fact, the December, 1996, issue of LIFE magazine featured on its front cover, a picture of a statue of Mary and the caption: "Two thousand years after the Nativity, the mother of Jesus is more BELOVED, POWERFUL, and CONTROVERSIAL than ever. The Mystery of Mary."

So, where are you going with all of this?

So, what is the secret of Mary's mysterious power? The powerful NEWSWEEKarticle (August 25, 1997) reveals, "The secret of Mary's mysterious power may be just this: having no history of her own, she entices every new generation to draw her portrait. The Bible offers only scraps to build on . . . From this meager line of development, Mary gradually grew in stature. Astonishingly, this obscure Jewish mother absorbed and transformed the most powerful pagan goddesses.She was the Madonna who gives life, but also the pieta who receives the dead. Once asceticism became the privileged road to Christian holiness, she became the perpetual virgin, the model of chastity and self-denial. In 431, the Council of Ephesus issued the first dogmatic statement of Mary: she was to be honored as Theotokos, the Godbearer or Mother of God . . . In the 19th century, long after many Protestant reformers had rejected the cult of the Virgin as popish nonsense, Pius IX proclaimed the Immaculate Conception Catholic dogma."

QUESTION!
Is the Mary who is adored and venerated around the world, and who "appears" in various mysterious forms today, really the mother of Jesus, OR, is she the ancient Babylonian Queen of Heaven, the Madonna with Child of the Pagans?

"Through spiritualism, Satan appears as a benefactor of the race, healing the diseases of the people, and profession to present a new and more exalted system of religious faith; but at the same time he works as a destroyer… While appearing to the children of men as a great physician who can heal all their maladies, he will bring disease and disaster, until populous cities are reduced to ruin and desolation. WARNING! The modern day apparitions of "Mary" are, in reality, demonic manifestations of Satan as an "angel of light!"

The mystery of Mary is, in truth, the Christianization of the same ancient Babylonian, spiritualistic goddess--the Madonna with Child--reinvented yet one more time to deceive and allure. It is another of Satan's masterful deceptions to distract mankind from the only Creator and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Yes, Satan would insidiously allure all the world into his adoration and worship. It is important that the world be warned of this almost overmastering deception. Three-fourths of the world's population adores the madonna goddess--of course Roman Catholics, but many Protestants, Moslems, Hindus, Buddists, Native Americans, Tribal Religions, Pagans, New Agers, Wiccans--all honor and adore the "virgin goddess".
